JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist serves as an integral part of the Human Resources team to support the company in driving performance and transformation. The Human Resources Generalist will partner with and support the team on a broad range of HR related projects and initiatives in numerous areas of Human Resources to support Grain Craft’s business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support specific areas of our HR areas of excellence (Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Retention, and Unemployment Claims) by assisting plant teams and HR team in executing various HR related programs.
- Oversee a decentralized recruiting model for 15 locations. Manage Indeed platform for job postings, overall recruiting budget, and work with Indeed rep on process improvements.
- Support stakeholders in all aspects of full-time, part-time, temporary, and intern talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing, posting, career fairs, screening, scheduling pre-hire assessments, scheduling interviews, placement, and onboarding. Maintain consistent awareness of approved plant team vacancies at each GC location.
- Help organize, set up, and attend career fairs and events to support ongoing recruiting efforts. May include college, technical school, industry events, and transitioning veterans. Continue to build partnerships with various colleges and universities in our GC areas.
- Oversee candidate behavioral assessment platform. Act as platform administrator to ensure plant recruiting teams are set up/trained and test batteries are built for open positions. Analyze and coach hiring teams on candidate reports for use during interviewing. Work with platform rep for process improvements, pipeline updates, and reporting to monitor use.
- Oversee Grain Craft’s background screening process and online platform. Organize, draft, and send out all Pre-Adverse Action and Adverse Action letters when required.
- Handle the review, approval, coding, and accounting submittal for invoicing related to all background screening, drug screening, and Indeed software platforms.
- Help support Grain Craft’s internship recruiting for both Quality and Operations. Work with Plant Managers to help build relationships at various colleges and universities to establish a potential pipeline of interns and future permanent hires.
- Oversee Grain Craft’s Referral Program. Receive, track, and ensure payouts with Payroll department. Work with Communications department to the program top of mind in the field.
- Support the HR team in the successful execution of electronic Onboarding, with ADP WFN, for new hires and offboarding for terminated employees. Process internal change forms.
- Utilize HRIS system to run reports and to collect, analyze, and summarize data for the HR team, and other stakeholders as needed. Ensure the integrity of employee data by processing HR transactions in core HRIS and other HR systems.
- Support the development and execution of talent development and training strategies such as Grain Craft’s leadership development program, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content, and other programs. Partner with Communications team to develop contests and campaigns to drive a learning mindset in the company.
- Provide HR team and respective internal Grain Craft stakeholders with reporting and special projects as required. Complete executive summaries on high-level items when requested.
- Participate in and support cross-functional teams to execute HR related projects that align with strategic business goals and continuous improvement targets.
- Supports organizational culture and engagement initiatives. Oversee and help develop/administer survey programs to the organization that feeds action plans to drive culture health. Partner with plant leadership to drive culture initiatives and quarterly check-ins to maintain and bias for action. Develop analytical reports to highlight gaps, recommendations, and success stories to leadership teams.
- Oversee and track unemployment claims. When received, partner with and prep plant managers for unemployment claim hearings. Attend hearings to ensure program integrity.
- All other duties and related job functions assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related experience and a SHRM-CP/PHR certification.
- 3-5 years of general experience in HR, with proven experience in talent acquisition. Experience with Union locations preferred.
- 3 years’ experience working in an HRIS, preferably ADP.
- HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) desirable
- Demonstrated aptitude and general knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding employment, wage and hours, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and other related laws.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete manner
- Ability to develop effective relationships and impact HR areas of excellence
- Highly organized work ethic with a can-do attitude to solve problems.
- Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, and team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
