Position Openings:
Direct Support Professionals to join our team. A Direct Support Professional is responsible for supporting and coordinating activities of the individuals living in the assigned home including teaching independent living skills, supporting the health and safety of each individual, and creating opportunities for individuals to broaden their horizons and participate in their communities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides support as necessary to ensure needs as identified by the individual and his/her Inter-Disciplinary Team are met.
- Communicates and coordinates with families, members of the Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), the individual’s day program and other providers of services and supports as necessary and appropriate
- Instructs, supports and participates in performing household tasks with individuals such as cleaning, preparing meals, planning household budgets, food shopping, etc.
- Assists individuals to develop daily living skills by identifying and meeting social, environmental and health care needs through person-centered planning and self-determination
- Monitors individuals to ensure they take medication as prescribed and teaches them how to take medication independently, may assist with medication administration when out in the community with the individual at a time when medication is to be taken
- Performs crisis intervention; provides emergency counseling and assistance
- Plan, coordinates and participates with individuals in person-centered community inclusion and leisure activities
- Transports individuals and/or provides mobility training to assist individuals to go to appointments, community rehabilitation program, grocery shopping, etc.
- Communicates and documents activities, progress and behaviors of individuals as appropriate
- Prepare food according to program developed menu, individuals’ likes and dislikes and doctor recommended diet

- Saturday-Sunday 11am-7pm (DSP 1, $16/hr, Woodbridge)
- Saturday 3-11, Sunday 9am-11pm (DSP 1, $16/hr, Woodbridge)
- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (DSP 1, $16/hr, Woodbridge)
- Thursday-Saturday 11pm-9am (DSP 1, $16/hr, Manassas)
- Thursday-Saturday 11pm-9am (DSP 1, $16/hr, Stafford)
- Friday 3-11pm, Saturday 9am-11pm, Sunday 3-11pm (DSP 1, $16/hr, Manassas)
- Saturday 7a-3p-Sunday 7am-11pm (DSP 1, $16/hr, Fairfax)
- Friday 3-11pm, Saturday-Sunday 7am-11pm (Weekend Supervisor, $18.50/hr, Woodbridge)
What You Need to Have:
- a High School diploma (or equivalent).
- a Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to support people with behavioral and medical needs
- Computer and basic writing skills
- at least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with ID/DD is preferred
All candidates will be required to attend a paid two-week orientation starting July 8th which will take place at our main office in Dumfries, VA. The orientation runs Monday-Friday 9:30am-3:30pm.
