The Goddard School, an early childhood education center, is located in Roscoe Village, Chicago. We are seeking INFANT and TODDLER Teachers who will plan and present age-appropriate activities for children.

General Qualifications
A Teacher must meet the qualifications of Illinois and the following qualifications:
- the ability to understand and support the education program using “learning through play” philosophy;
- the ability to interact closely with children at their level;
- the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents;
- the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; and
- the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.
Educational Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or
- A Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or 60 college credits in any field, including 6 semester hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8 OR
- 30 college credits in any field, including 6 semester hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8 and 1 year of childcare experience OR
- A CDA
- 60 College credits in any field (or 30 with 1 year of childcare experience) with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a Year of Employment at Goddard
A Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
