POSITION SUMMARY: Under direction, is responsible for ensuring collaboration between the engineering, design and manufacturing departments to fully engineer complex drawings and specifications. Uses extensive knowledge of materials and woodworking processes to ensure quality and time frames are met. Performs essential functions and responsibilities in support of the company's quality and safety goals; and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and performs required functions consistent with quality, efficiency and completion schedules in line with company’s goals and objectives.
- Responsible to fully engineer and incorporate complex cabinet design and millwork creating technical documentation, to meet manufacturing requirements. Initiates and implements corrections on product design or documentation to meet manufacturing and/or customer requirements.
- Utilizes knowledge of machine set-ups and capabilities for a wide variety of woodworking equipment to ensure design specifications are compliant and quality standards are met.
- Monitors all orders on production floor to ensure timely completion and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- Provides manufacturing support regarding the building and testing of all products.
- Maintains open and constant communication with supervisor to report issues and if expected productivity time frames will not be met.
- Utilizes knowledge, skills, training, and information to achieve peak performance, continuous improvement, and maintains a positive, productive work environment consistent with company’s goals and objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring all safety procedures are properly followed, striving for a goal of no accidents or injuries per calendar year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of engineering design and complex specifications.
- Knowledge of cabinet design, functionality and manufacturing process.
- Knowledge, skill and ability in translating complex engineering design into production plans and cabinet completion.
- Knowledge of all safety principles and practices.
- Knowledge of computer software appropriate to the assignment, such as iPad operation and MS Office.
- Skill in the use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches.
- Skill in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Skill and ability in obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment and materials.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with others and to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work under stringent deadlines and handle issues which develop unexpectedly.
- Skill in the operation of a personal computer.
EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years of product engineering experience in the cabinet industry required.
- Pre-employment drug test,
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
