POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the effective preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of maintaining multiple general ledgers, implementing measures to identify all material transactions are appropriately recorded, developing standards and processes for proper financial management and general review to ensure conformity with US GAAP. As an integral member of the Accounting Operations team, this position coordinates the processing of large amounts of transactions to provide insight into operational performance. This position requires sound technical accounting knowledge and the ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure financial accountability for the operational divisions of Armada
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process
- Provide supervision and guidance to assigned staff with day-to-day operations, complex and technical accounting tasks and issues, as well as personal and professional growth
- Work with management to ensure the department fulfills the company’s financial goals
- Identify best practices within the department to improve and streamline processes and meet deadlines
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries into the accounting system
- Ensure Reconciliations are completed and reviewed. Ensure reconciling items are resolved timely
- Manage the process of maintaining the fixed asset sub ledger for depreciation and tax purposes for all applicable entities
- Review and prepare exposure analysis, lead, and roll-forward schedules for assigned entities as they pertain to the quarter-end reviews and year-end audits
- Maintain general ledger in accordance with GAAP guidelines
- Review and prepare financial statements (including supplemental analysis files)
- Maintain internal controls and support audits by providing information and answers to auditors
- Work with Sr. Accounting Manager to streamline processes and meet deadlines
- Responsible for working with Corporate accounting for tax, lease, and capital reporting requirements
- Maintain JDE Account setup and corresponding accounting related JDE system setup
- Stay current on professional standards and training to ensure US GAAP and other required compliance
- Assist in establishing departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Assess workloads and provide recommendations to maximize efficiencies of staff.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Requirement:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a 5+ years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Must have 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Inventory experience preferred but not required
Language and Technical Skills Requirement:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Significant hands-on experience using a modern ERP system, JDE preferred
- The ability to prioritize and plan department work activities
- Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality performance
- The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
- Must possess advanced analytical skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must possess the capability to manage large volumes of data through general ledger and financial statement preparation in a multiple company environment
