Job Description
Purpose:
Keep the database running smoothly 24/7 and provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. Use deep database experience to serve as a lead ability, mentoring less-experienced team members and consulting internally with all levels of associates and technical leaders in the department.
Responsibilities:
· Provide mentorship and strategic support for the database administration team and others.
· Provide lead-level technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues that may cross multiple technologies.
· Work on unusually complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
· Provide technical leadership through example, develop innovation, strategies, processes, and best practices.
· Provide technical leadership for various databases that serve as the foundation for critical enterprise systems.
· Technical Leadership, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Development team; influential technical leader with deep database ability
· Evaluate and propose design and process improvements to achieve performance and cost optimization; Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
· Assume a lead role in designing, building, and implementing database systems of high availability and quality that meet end-user needs.
· Define users and enable data distribution to the right users, in proper format and on time.
· Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
· Decide, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
· Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
· Aid application development and quality assurance staff in the development of database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
· Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
· Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
· Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.
· Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
· Monitor, perfect, and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
· Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Knowledge & Skills

· SQL Server Certifications are preferred but not needed.
· Experience in the latest versions of SQL Server is needed.
· The ability to perform SQL Server backup and recovery options is needed.
· Background in SQL and Server turning is needed.
· Windows Servers/Systems knowledge is needed.
· Experience in SSRS and SSIS is preferred.
· Working Knowledge of Database Architecture Design and Best Practices is needed.
· Experience with transactional and/or data warehouse practices.
· Advanced database programming skills required (SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL, other).
· Experience in Oracle 10g or 11g Server Setup/Maintenance is a plus.
· The ability to perform RMAN backup, recovery, and duplication is a plus.
· Linux/Unix Servers/System knowledge is a plus.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Project and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
· Basic knowledge of business analysis, business knowledge, and quality assurance.
· Knowledge of Application SDLC is needed.
· The ability to troubleshoot and communicate problems and severity issues is needed.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Degree requirements may be waived with significant related and demonstrable work experiences.
· Minimum of five years of experience proving mastery of core technologies
