Per diem & hybrid role. Due to being per diem, hours are day shift and shifts are varied due to being a per diem role. Some of the work could be performed from home and other requires to be on site and float to our pharmacy sites along with driving throughout Los Angeles to fill pyxis machines. Training could be full time hours and will work per diem after training is completed.
The per diem hybrid floater Pharmacy Technician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network Foundation will assist in supporting the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network pharmacists in the daily operations of the Pharmacy & Nutrition Services Department. The Pharmacy Technician primary role is to assist the pharmacists, physicians and other providers in processing of prescription orders, prior authorizations, distribution and inventory management of clinic-administered medications, and obtaining and compiling clinical information. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. This role also involves some driving to stock our pyxis machines throughout the Los Angeles area.
What's this role all about?

Communicate pertinent information to pharmacists, prescribing physicians, other providers, and/or office staff.

Monitor and respond to e-mail and electronic medical record inbox/in-baskets messages and other communications in a timely manner throughout the work day.

Assist in obtaining prior authorizations from insurance plans and coordination with pharmacies.

Assist with data collection and entry when needed.

Facilitate communication with clinics/departments regarding medication requests and issues pertaining to medication stock and delivery.

Conduct chart or laboratory searches as necessary and transcribe relevant information into CS-Link.
