A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for full facility maintenance and repair, to include all manufacturing equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor/Lead person. They have a very good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and associated safety precautions.
Job responsibilities are as follows but not limited to and may be changed or added to at any time.
Tasks
- Repair or maintain the operating condition of manufacturing equipment such as HVAC, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, Mechanical and Welders (SMAW, TIG & MIG), ovens, core cutters and more.
- Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Perform maintenance and repair of office and manufacturing facilities. Document it using the work order system.
- Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary
- Participate in the Spill Contingency Group and Lockout – Tagout program.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED
- 2 years experience performing maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
· Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment
· Ability to utilize a respirator (requires medical statement of suitability)
· Proficient written & oral communication skills (legible)
· Ability and willingness to work overtime, evening / off shifts, weekends, and holidays
