A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WELLNESS DIRECTOR
The Wellness Director will work directly with the Executive Director to provide supervision to our care department, medication management, and works as the connection between families, providers, and care initiatives. We are looking for a candidate that can help coach our care team to success while delivering excellent care standards for our residents.
As the Wellness Director, you will supervise and manage medication administration within our EMR system, handle order clarification, and oversee medication inventory procedures. You will meet with resident families to address care concerns, manage caregiver schedules, and regulate overtime. You will also plan and coordinate assessments and service plans, work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare partners, and maintain healthcare inventory within budget. Your responsibilities include ensuring a clean environment through infection control protocols, providing training and guidance to care staff, adhering to healthcare policies, and working with House Supervisors to ensure high-quality resident care. You will also manage survey readiness, assess incoming residents for care placement, handle resident care charting, and work flexible hours as needed. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WELLNESS DIRECTOR
- Must hold a valid LPN or RN license in the state of AZ.
- 3+ years of supervisory and leadership, of those 2+ years previous experience in an Assisted Living & Memory Care or Skilled Nursing setting
- 2+ years of training experience in Medications, ADLs, care practices and proper body mechanics.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in Behavioral Care
- Must understand and be a novice in providing and training resident's ADLs cares.
- Proficient in Medication Administration and Records
- Must be able to utilize an EMR system to access charts (Point Click Care experience a PLUS!)
- Knowledge of ALTCS and required documentation to determine level of care payment.
- Strong supervisory qualities
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Must hold a valid LPN or RN license in the State of AZ
- Must hold a valid Fingerprint card.
- Must have basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPPA regulations.
- Desire to work with the elderly.
