The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Licensing & Recruitment Specialist to join our Cincinnati Foster Care Department! The Licensing & Recruitment Specialist works with prospective foster parents to complete the steps necessary to become licensed foster parents in accordance with agency and ODJFS regulations. The Licensing & Recruitment Specialist will assist foster parents through the recertification and/or home study amendment process. This position will create and implement outreach efforts to educate the general public about foster care in order to recruit potential caregivers. They will also carry out events and opportunities to foster parents to feel supported, valued, and recognized.
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt, Schedule Varies, M-F (some evenings/ weekends required)
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid Work Model – In office work required)
What you’ll do:
- Assesses prospective foster parent candidates and licensed foster parents to determine their ability to meet all legal requirements of ODJFS and accrediting bodies.
- Exhibits the ability to gauge the safety and stability of children in foster placement.
- Document foster parent compliance with ODJFS, county contracts & accrediting standards.
- Collect and organize the necessary paperwork for children and foster families.
- Speak with potential applicants who inquire about foster parenting. Provide guidance on the licensing process, answer questions, and follow up regularly to provide support and encouragement.
- Assess situations, identify risk, and develop effective solutions including safety planning upon placement, or safety measured needed within a foster family’s home.
- Recruit & engage prospective & licensed foster parent in the self-evaluation to determine training needs & ongoing needs to successfully parent foster youth.
Who you are:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, or Bachelor’s degree in a field other than a human service, with appropriate experience.
- You have 6 months to 1 year of related experience
- You are proficient with computer programs necessary to complete the above tasks including Excel, Word, Outlook, SACWIS.
- You have an active driver’s license.
- LSW, LISW, Assessor certification preferred
