Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, desiring to treat in pediatric home health setting in Southwest Dallas, TX.

Cornerstone Pediatric Therapy is a dynamic home health company based in Carrollton, TX that serves the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and Waco. We are looking for a therapist to work PRN (5-16 weekly visits), part-time (17-25 weekly visits), or full-time (26+ weekly visits) in the Cockrell Hill, Oak Cliff and surrounding areas.

Cornerstone helps patients from birth to 21 years of age reach an optimal level of wellbeing in their homes. We offer full time, part time and as needed (PRN) positions for speech, physical, and occupational therapists. We have a passion for serving not only the children of our community but their families as well by providing hope, support, and encouragement throughout the referral and therapy processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute plan of care and set long-term and short-term goals for prescription of services for clients
- Track and record client progression and mastery of goals; observes and records client’s progress, attitudes, and behaviors, while maintaining confidentiality per HIPPA regulation and ethical standards
- Accept clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to provide excellent care for patients
- Plan and provide appropriate treatment for neuro-muscular, neurological, and orthopedic disorders based on medical referral and therapy assessment.
- Assist and instruct patient/ family in transfer techniques appropriate to patient abilities. Instruct on use of equipment such as walkers, wheelchair, canes, etc. in a safe manner. Utilize appropriate therapy equipment specific to patient diagnosis and needs.
- Guide and educate family members and caregivers
- Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitate the use of these skills with other team members to achieve desirable outcomes
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service education. Maintain CEU requirements as applicable per licensure
- Promote agency philosophy and follow administrative policies to ensure quality of care
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited American Physical Therapy Association approved program
- License from the State of Texas as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- CPR Certification
- Pediatric Experience Preferred
