POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital’s (MLKCH) Health Information Technology projects to support its mission of providing compassionate, collaborative, quality care and improving the overall health of the community. MLKCH serves a community that lacks adequate health and social resources, thus creating a sense of urgency for the Hospital to grow and expand its scope of services in order to meet the community’s needs.
Initiatives required to support the operations of the hospital will be comprised of several medium to large projects. These projects will be highly visible and may require an executive-level steering committee, a multi-disciplinary team, complex program plans, implementation sequencing, resource management and robust enterprise-wide communication and change management. Example initiatives could include, projects associated with Cardiology / Radiolgy, Pharmacy and other ancillary department expansion of services and/or initiating new service lines of operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the management, organization and effective delivery of multiple medium to large scale projects. Individual will be responsible for project managing all aspects of the project or just the delivery of the Health IT components. Individual may be needed to assist other MLKCH executives.

Work with the Director of Health IT Security and the vendor to ensure a Health IT risk assessment is performed and that a business associate agreement is signed, if required.

Manage the vendors involved and review invoices and expense reports for the duration of the project/program.

Work collaboratively with the project/program sponsor, Health IT, stakeholders, subject matter experts, executives, senior, and mid-level leadership.

Work collaboratively with the project/program sponsor to complete the project request form, develop the return-on-investment model, and present to the Health IT Steering Committee, as required by the Program Management Office.

Determine and communicate the project/program’s staffing requirements, identifying areas of concern.

Drive project planning, maintain the project plan and manage the entire project/program lifecycle.

Develop and obtain approval of the project/program’s communication, training and change management strategy.

Manage the program’s scope, schedule, cost, resources, risk, dependencies, quality, procurement, communications, training, and change management.

Manage an inter-disciplinary team of subject matter experts, clinical informaticists, application analysts, infrastructure architects, network engineers, etc. and ensure project tasks are completed on time.

Provide guidance and support to subject matter experts on the team.

Identify project/program risks, propose mitigating actions, provide the analysis, and manage the implementation of the actions.

Identify project/program issues, propose solutions, provide the analysis, and manage the implementation of the solutions.

Maintain project deliverables across the project lifecycle.

Regularly communicate status to stakeholders and the program’s steering committee.

Coordinate project administration, such as time tracking, meeting minutes, and status reporting.

Collaborate and build relationships within the Health IT team as well as with internal and external stakeholders, including MLKCH leadership, physicians, providers, end users, and other members of the patient care.
