MEP Engineering Firm in the Mid-Atlantic region providing design, commissioning oversight and consulting expertise in the healthcare, telecommunications, higher education, laboratory/research, government sectors, and facilities / mission critical data center environment with the mindset to provide reliability, energy efficiency, sustainable design and LEED expertise when providing these MEP consulting services.
Staff Mechanical Engineer- Baltimore, MD
Responsibilities:
* Mechanical design of projects, create designs and plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary mechanical engineering design role, handle multiple simultaneous projects in wide variety of projects distribution systems for educational, industrial, health care, laboratory, commercial core and shell buildings and tenant interior fit-out projects.
* Provide cooling and heating load calculations, air and water distribution system pressure drop calculations
* Provide HVAC equipment selection, and review submittals.
* Provide plumbing and fire protection calculations and provide equipment selection.
* Prepare Construction Drawings, Specifications, Calculations, Cost Estimates, and perform field inspections
* Work with Management to respond to RFP’s
* Represent the company in project meetings as needed
* Autodesk Revit, experience preferred but not required, AutoCAD experience required
* Preferred working knowledge of word, excel, and windows
* Preferred working knowledge of energy modeling software
Qualifications:
* 8-12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* EIT or the ability to sit for the EIT/FE exam is preferred, PE a plus
* Experience with Mechanical Systems such as chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumping systems, plumbing systems, generators, and control system coordination desirable.
* Experience working on complex facilities design or for Hospitals, Data Centers, Mission Critical projects a plus
* Ability to successfully work independently, while coordinating with electrical disciplines.
* Self Starter, self-motivated, and should prioritize well. Strong mechanical building systems background.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,665.98 - $143,167.63 per year
