We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Quality Technician to join our team. The Lead Quality
Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products through rigorous
testing, inspection, and adherence to established standards and procedures. This individual will lead a
team of quality technicians and collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and management to
maintain and improve product quality and food safety.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of quality technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure
accurate and efficient execution of quality control procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure
compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform various quality tests, including but not limited to physical, chemical, and sensory
evaluations, utilizing appropriate equipment and methodologies.
- Identify and investigate deviations from quality standards, documenting findings and
implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address quality issues and implement
process improvements aimed at enhancing product quality, food safety and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of quality testing results, inspection findings, and corrective actions
taken, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures, training
programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing support and facilitating corrective actions
to address audit findings.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, and
management, to ensure alignment on quality objectives and priorities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to
food safety and quality assurance, incorporating new knowledge into quality management
systems as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) activities,
including the development, implementation, and maintenance of HACCP plans.
- Must be certified as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and responsible for
overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our food safety plan in
compliance with FSMA regulations.
- Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in a food
manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety principles, quality management systems, and regulatory
requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP, HACCP).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make
informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with quality management software
systems is desirable.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross functionally and influence positive change.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing
quality issues.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed to support production schedules
and quality initiatives.
