Position Summary: This position is the front person for the The Arc. Greets and establishes a professional relationship with all new hires. Provides technical/administrative support to the HR department and associated projects. Duties and tasks are varied but generally standardized although some may be moderately complex. Independently applies basic and advanced paraprofessional skills in procedures, processes and techniques appropriate for the position within the assigned functional area. May adapt procedures and processes to accomplish position requirements. Works independently and selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Sr Director, Human Resources. Examples of tasks:
Conducts pre-hire research on all candidates including background checks, reference checks, physicals, functionality tests and drug screens
Completes all new hire paperwork such as offer letters, tax forms and inputs the personal data into the payroll system.
Works daily with the recruiting team scheduling interviews
Responsible for document retention and production of documents for assorted external audits
Maintains and updates all employee files
Qualification Requirements: An outgoing and welcoming personality is an absolute must. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires an associate degree in human resources or a related field (Bachelors preferred); valid driver's license along with two (2) years of driving experience required. Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and application of analytical skills in problem solving. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and other computer software programs.
