This Maintenance Electrician position is for a person with strong electrical skills. This position supports the day-to-day operation of the site solving issues primarily within the electrical field, but will also include other responsibilities within the traditional mechanical maintenance skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED required
- Must be a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience
- A two-year associate’s or technical degree in electrical field is preferred
- Minimum of five years experience in a plant environment in an electrical role
- Must be willing to work answer cell phone and respond to callouts
- Must follow all safety rules and participate in all scheduled training
- Ability to work in and/or learn all maintenance skill areas in the plant
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including walking and standing for long periods of time and physical lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work overtime, days, nights, additional shifts, holidays, and/or weekends as needed or determined by the Maintenance Manager
- All other tasks as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to Install, Maintain, and Troubleshoot electrical power distribution systems
- Ability to read and understand P&ID’s and other electrical / instrument related drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical tracing systems and calibrate/install various instrumentation components
- Ability to work with Industrial Automation and Controls (ranging from low voltage DC to 480V, 3 Phase systems)
- Experience working with PLC based Control Systems and their Hardware
- Experience with and ability to read/interpret PLC Programs, using primarily Allen Bradley Software (RSlogix 500 and Rslogix 5000)
- Ability to Install, Maintain, and Troubleshoot VFD drives and other Motor Starter Controls
- Ability to pragmatically troubleshoot various electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to use meters and other appropriate electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Knowledge of applicable codes for various Electrical Systems
- Good understanding of computers and various software systems
- Good organizational skills and ability to work well with others
- Ability to manage multiple activities and prioritize tasks with minimal direction or oversight
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and very strong troubleshooting capability
- Proven safety experience/training and leadership regarding manufacturing operations including but not limited to: confined space, lock out tag out, hot work, safe work permits, personal protective equipment, and other critical safety procedures
