Job Description: As a Kitchen Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. You will lead a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best quality and prices.
- Oversee food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with local health regulations.
- Collaborate with the sushi chef to create and update menu items.
- Control and manage kitchen budgets, including labor and food costs.
- Resolve any kitchen-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar role within a Japanese restaurant.
- In-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Culinary school diploma or degree in restaurant management is a plus.
- Sushi experience is plus!
