JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Director,Marketing and Communications
Reports To: Vice President of Operations and Finance
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Status: Part-Time
Position Location: Position will be a hybrid of mobile operations with the expectation of occasional in-person activities in the Camp Hill, PA office when necessary/required (average 1 time per month).
$25.00/hour starting wage as part-time position averaging 20-25 hours a week.
Position Summary:
The Pennsylvania Council of Children Youth & Family Services (PCCYFS) is a statewide membership association representing providers of child welfare, juvenile probation, behavioral/mental health, and educational services. Primary responsibilities of this position include supporting design and distribution of all agency publications; providing general updates/information to members and non-members; oversight/management of agency social media; and supporting conference/event planning and fundraising. This position is also responsible for promoting a positive public image of the organization via many strategies, including the creation of professional communications. This position is the lead for dissemination of information on the organization’s behalf.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or a relevant field related to human services, child welfare, or social services.
Primary Functions & Specific Responsibilities:
· Develop effective communication strategies in collaboration with staff and agency leadership.
· Create and implement annual marketing strategies and plans, and calendars of campaigns and efforts.
· Deliver high-quality professional looking digital and physical design of reports, fact sheets, and other publications using professional software such as Adobe.
· Support in the development of conference and other events to include tasks of hotel/site coordination, promotion, marketing, etc.
· Track and support connections with media.
· Post/circulate content for press releases, newsletters, training announcements, etc. via Constant Contact and other communications channels.
· Contribute to agency website to include news articles, conference page development/maintenance, membership/sponsor page, etc.
· Lead role in creating and coordinating social media content, advertisements, and marketing materials. Consult and collaborate with marketing professionals when appropriate/required.
· Develop and implement donation drives for the agency including a Giving Tuesday campaign.
· Participate in PCCYFS committees, workgroups, and regional council meetings to stay current on member issues and priorities.
· Respond to member questions and inquiries.
· Management and maintenance of membership/contact database in systems such as Constant Contact.
· Keeps executive leadership informed of activities, issues, and concerns raised by members or external stakeholders.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent grammar, composition and proofreading skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Proficient organizational and planning abilities.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
· Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop software or similar photo editing/document design software.
· Working knowledge of membership communication systems such as Constant Contact.
· Working knowledge of various online survey platforms and tools.
· Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
· Excellent professionalism.
· Ability to synthesize information from a variety of people/sources.
· Ability to work independently, as well as be a part of a team, and effective in listening to others and expressing ideas.
· Experience in web design and content production (not required but a plus).
· General understanding of children’s services systems in Pennsylvania or willingness to learn (not required but a plus).
