Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism, helping them to lead fulfilling lives. Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, and grooming (ADLs)
- Provide support in managing behaviors and promoting positive interactions
- Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines (if needed)
- Implement individualized plans and goals for each individual
- Support individuals in developing life skills and promoting independence
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if necessary
- Engage individuals in recreational activities and community outings
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided
Experience:
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques
- Experience in medication administration is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals as needed
Requirements (All of the below are fully required):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
