Job Overview
We are searching for a skilled interior design professional who can creatively design residential construction projects, present and sell the projects to prospective clients, and manage the execution of the clients vision through completion.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Attending client meetings to understand the design needs, space availability, functionality, and client preferences regarding interior styles and colors
- Creating initial design sketches, color themes (look books) and ideas based on client requirements and space availability
- Attend selection appointments at various showrooms to help assist clients in making design decisions
- Draft CAD Files and cabinetry layouts for customer approval, ordering, and/or permitting
- Overseeing the buying process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project
- Ensuring project completion within the allocated budget and timeline
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience working in a similar capacity with a builder/remodeler
- The ability to work well in a supportive team environment is essential for this position
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information as well as troubleshoot and problem solve
- Knowledge of the residential construction industry including construction costs, materials, products, methods, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of design principles and proven experience with residential design
- Chief Architect/AutoCAD/2020 proficiency
- A high level of understanding of blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and other construction documents is essential.
- Experience with performing and verifying takeoffs and unit cost-based purchasing.
- Customer Oriented
- Ability to multitask and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or project deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and possess above average written and oral communication skills.
- Proven organization skills in a high paced work environment
- Must be technology savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
