Position Purpose
Collaborate with the Director of HR on all related Human Resource functions and implementation of best practices to support achievement of corporate business objectives. Lead total rewards programs, ensuring competitive and cost-effective employee compensation. Oversee employee health and welfare initiatives, and provide ongoing assistance with compensation evaluation tools. Additionally, the role will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with all team members, including supervisors, and union representatives.
Position Responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits:
- Administer daily operations pertaining to all company benefit programs including wellness and leave programs.
- Oversee administrative employee benefit programs, including enrollment, changes, billing, etc. for accuracy/efficiency.
- Partner with Director of HR on engagement with broker and providers.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of HR to execute compensation planning process including market analysis and cross-functional review.
- Assist Director of HR with annual salary/merit process and performance review process. Distribute annual employee notices as required and benefits reporting requirements.
- Benchmark positions against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and prepare proposals for top management.
- Partner with Human Resources Team to deliver innovative solutions to business and support leaders in understanding our Total Rewards philosophy and structure
- Oversee annual benefits enrolment activities including planning, preparation and testing of online enrollment platform, as well as auditing for enrolment accuracy
- Recommends and develops new policies and revisions to existing policies to ensure regulatory compliance and as business needs change
Compliance:
- Partners with Director of HR to monitor monthly compliance calendar and ensure all reporting requirements are addressed proactively and completed no later than due date; ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations for HR/PR policies, processes, etc.
- Process and track all employee FMLA, ADA, and/or other similar leaves or absence while ensuring compliance with applicable law and Company policy.
- Oversee the HR Generalist to complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Stay informed about changes in labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Employee Relations/Performance Management:
- Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with employee departures and exit interviews
- Acts as a mentor or resource to other HR Generalists to include answering questions, coaching, and providing guidance on day-to-day activities
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance feedback, goal setting, and development plans.
- Identify opportunities for employee skill development and career advancement.
- Develops, documents and recommends continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures or programs to deliver innovative solutions to meet business needs.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the Chief Human Resources Officer, Director of HR, and support other team members and HR functions as needed.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
- 4- 6 years of related experience is required with at least 2+ years in a progressively responsible Compensation/Benefits role preferred.
- This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization, building relationships and establishing credibility with employees from a wide range of teams/departments.
- In depth understanding of benefit programs, long and short-term disability, 401(k) plans, ERISA, Cobra, and FMLA.
- Previous experience with self-funded insurance benefit plan administration, reporting and auditing
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing reward systems, benefits and processes.
- Experience of implementing and maintaining pay and benefits packages.
- Strong team working skills, able to work collaboratively across the HR function.
- Thorough understanding of all areas of Human Resources with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.
- HR certification a plus _SHRM
- Excellent interpersonal skills to frequently deal with employees, management, and benefit partners.
