Major Function
Perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and administrative duties according to established policies and procedures to maintain accurate financial and billing records and reports. Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with reviewing, reporting on and processing inter-firm transactions and settlements
- Assist Accounts Payable with processing approved check requests, invoices, expense reimbursements, credit card transactions, outgoing wires/ACH transactions, refunds and vendor set-up
- Assist Cash Management with cash receipts, incoming wires/ACH transactions, trust accounts, depository accounts and operational tasks
- Assist with general ledger transactions, account reconciliations, data-mining, process documentation, research and analysis
- Assist in timely responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with special projects or requests
- Assist with departmental and Firm improvement projects
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of similar work experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional service organization
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Understanding of accounting principles, policies, and procedures
- Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze data
- Advanced computer/software proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and PDF and scanning software. Experience with Elite Enterprise, 3E and Chrome River systems preferred.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, organize and prioritize tasks and complete them under time constraints with a high degree of accuracy
- Dependable and accountable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution and follow-through skills
- Ability to adapt to an evolving work environment and participate in testing and implementation of new processes when necessary
- Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, displays high degree of business acumen, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence
- Work occasionally requires more than 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a talented individual who is preferably located in Louisville, Kentucky, or Indianapolis, Indiana, and who can thrive in both an in-office and a remote working environment. However, we welcome individuals applying from other markets.
