The primary role of the
Veteran Coach is to serve as a day-to-day client-facing coach/consultant/sales leader to help U.S. military veterans navigate the confusing VA disability claims process. You will work incredibly hard and be expected to follow our proven education-based process to help your veteran clients get the VA disability benefits they deserve.
You will be a trusted advisor to U.S. military veterans by coaching, educating, and mentoring them through the confusing VA disability claim process. Our ideal candidates for this virtual position are great leaders, communicators, teammates, and highly motivated self-starters who demonstrate integrity, resourcefulness, heart, and hustle. This position reports to a Veteran Coach Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises one or more administrative assistants. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees/contractors. Carries supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees/contractors; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees/contractors; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Conducts VA disability claims coaching/consulting/strategy/sales services for veteran clients
- Provides virtual support to your assigned Veteran clients through daily email exchanges, phone calls, text messages, and video teleconference education-based coaching sessions
- Reviews and understands each Veteran’s specific disability and analyze to determine additional conditions the veteran client(s) may qualify for
- Provides leadership and coaching to veteran clients while they prepare and file their own disability claims
- Guides veteran clients through members-only education-based resources inside the VA Claims
- Insider Elite portal, and connect them with independent medical professionals
- Completes daily required documentation in our CRM systems to include meeting/exceeding set metrics to ensure ELITE-level service with their assigned veteran clients
- Leads coaching/consulting services, facilitates group Mastermind discussions over live video, and guides veteran clients through the VACI Elite Membership program resources
- Collaborates with other teams/departments within VA Claims Insider to continually improve our operational processes
- Complies with all internal policies and all applicable state, local, and federal laws
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Proficient in utilizing various web-based technologies (Google G-Suite, Microsoft, Zoom) and CRM systems to support virtual sales environment (training will be provided)
- Strong presentation skills and experience with leading live Q&A sessions
- Experience with conflict resolution
- Strong Listening, Understanding, and empath skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be a critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
- Experience finding and proposing innovative solutions
- Ability to build high-trust personal relationships with Veteran clients
- Experience working with minimal supervision to multitask and manage daily workload from beginning to end
- Experience (or comfortable with) working as part of an all-virtual, cross-functional team and working with all levels up, down, and across organizations
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of sales and customer service experience (must be comfortable with outbound calls)
- Must have high speed reliable internet.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or similar
- Previous knowledge and experience navigating the VA disability benefits system
- Military veterans, disabled veterans, and military/veteran spouse is a plus.
- Previous or current client of VA Claims Insider is a plus
- Health Care (HIPAA compliance) experience
