Position Summary:
The Computer Programmer performs a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming and data processing procedures. This individual serves as the backup contact for support issues; and maintains and modifies programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Code, test, troubleshoot, analyze, maintain, and develop programs.
2. Assist with solving core system software issues.
3. Assist team members in using computer systems and other technology.
4. Develop detailed programming logic based on specifications.
5. Evaluate interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one program would cause unwanted results in a related program.
6. Analyze and correct deficiencies in program performance.
7. Write and maintain new program code and programming documentation.
8. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
9. Design and modify interfaces to improve usability.
10. Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
Qualifications Required:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 3 years of programming experience.
3. Intermediate experience to write in multiple programming languages such as Symitar PowerOn, JavaScript, Java, and proprietary programming languages or reporting tools.
4. Demonstrated ability to modify and generate system reports.
5. Demonstrated ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
6. Demonstrated ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.
7. Demonstrated ability to investigate and analyze information/problems and to draw conclusions.
8. Demonstrated ability to easily learn and support new systems, products, and applications.
9. Advanced knowledge of programming logic and languages.
10. Proficiency using Excel and Word.
Qualifications Preferred:
1. Computer science degree.
2. Symitar PowerOn programming experience.
3. Credit union experience.
4. Knowledge of banking core systems.
5. Knowledge of PC and server hardware.
Working Conditions:
Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and work space are all sufficient. This position also works from home, where an appropriate work environment is required.
Physical Demands:
Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
