Overview - The Benefits Manager is responsible for managing retirement and health and welfare employee benefit programs in North America. The Benefits Manager plans and leads implementation and administration of benefits programs as well as ensures plans are operated in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Benefits Manager collaborates cross functionally to create, develop and distribute Benefits related communications to the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities - The Benefit Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Day to day administration of benefits programs including life event management, managing vendor relationships and benefit integrations

Lead annual enrollment planning, testing, execution and auditing in Workday

Assists in the preparation of employee benefits guides and other benefits communications

Develop, refine, and document benefits policies and procedures

Ensure US benefits operate in compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA and ACA

Provide guidance and advise employees regarding benefits eligibility, provisions and other matters related to Benefits

Partners with Benefits team members and Payroll to ensure proper benefits deductions are occurring with each payroll process

Leave of Absence administration (FMLA and non FMLA leave)

Manage Canadian Retirement Plan and Disability programs
Required Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree
-
Five (5) or more years of Benefits experience, including 1 or more years of 401(k) plan administration
Preferred Experience
-
Experience with Workday Benefits Administration
Skills & Abilities

Effective time management skills to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong organizational interaction and presentation skills including excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (both verbally and written)

Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in Excel

Basic knowledge of ERISA, employee benefit programs, and leave of absence administration
