We are currently seeking Carpenter Foremen to join our Wagman Construction team. The position will support projects within a 2-hour radius of our York, PA office.
Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with major operations in heavy civil, general construction, and geotechnical construction services. Founded in 1902, Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia. As a full-service general contractor, Wagman Construction facilitates growth and development in senior living, healthcare, higher education, urban, institutional, and industrial markets in central Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) five years of experience in project planning and scheduling, managing people and subcontractors, and an in-depth working knowledge of construction trades.
Essential Functions:
- Overall planning, management, and execution of assigned projects.
- Project scheduling and controlling direct job material and labor expenses.
- Ensure assigned projects are executed in accordance with specs and the high-quality standards of the company, and that each maximizes the company’s profit opportunities.
- Monitor safety and daily work activity.
- Review monthly cost projections with the Project Manager.
- Hold weekly subcontractor meetings to monitor the progress of the work and resolve issues related to the execution of the work.
- Attend weekly progress meetings with the owner and monthly formal progress meetings as required.
- Must be able to both work with their tools and manage subcontractors and other employees.
- Ability to travel within 100-mile radius of York, PA.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level to waist level and up to 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
- Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
- Must have ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height - and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
