Groundskeeper
The Agency for Community Transit, ACT, is looking for an experienced Groundskeeper to perform routine maintenance and repair of grounds, bikeways, and landscaped areas. This is a full-time position. For consideration, you MUST complete an online application at http://jobs.actinfo.org/
Job Duties:
- Perform landscaping functions for exterior property including routine maintenance and care of grounds.
- Perform maintenance on MCT trails (e.g., mowing, trimming, minor pavement repair, tree trimming, post-storm clean-up) as needed.
- Provide services necessary to keep equipment operative (e.g., lubricate equipment, change mower and chainsaw blades).
- Transport equipment to work site as needed.
- Removal of snow and ice from pavement, sidewalks, entryways and other areas as needed.
- Attend work regularly.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent. Some formal mechanical or landscape training is preferred.
- Two (2) years’ experience of operating equipment such as: pickup trucks, small dump trucks, tractors, chippers, chainsaws and lawnmowers,
- Able to read and understand written instructions and schematic diagrams.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL Class B. We will train and license you.
- Must be able to obtain a pesticide license.
- Ability to work beyond normal hours when needed.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Normal working conditions for this position involve exposure to all types of weather and elements.
- The physical requirements of the position include moderate physical activity requiring a full range of motion in all extremities.
- Manual dexterity to safely use hand and garden tools including shovels, shears, brooms, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, drills, etc.
- Must have ability to lift, carry, and/or drag objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
This is a full-time position working day shift Monday through Friday, including overtime as required. ACT provides a competitive salary, benefit package, and matching retirement plan.
