Job Description:
The Meat Cutter is responsible for the exceptional execution of guest service. They are responsible for cutting the case to the Village Market Standard daily. The Cutter will ensure the highest level of execution in regards to receiving, unloading, storage, rotation, merchandising and building of displays.
Qualifications:
- Ability to model and provide exceptional guest service.
- Must have a love of natural, organic and specialty products.
- Must have a minimum two years’ experience as a cutter.
- Must have vast Meat & Seafood product knowledge.
- Must be able to set a fresh and appealing case.
- Able to oversee all proper rotation techniques.
- Able to fill in where needed to ensure service, food safety and sanitation standards.
- Able to ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
- Knowledgeable of proper rotation principals
- Able to open and close the department properly.
- Able to assist with checking refrigeration points to ensure all temp logs are filled out properly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
Responsibilities:
- Model and provide exceptional guest service.
- Responsible for achieving 90% or higher average on all Mystery shop scores.
- Effectively resolve guest issues.
- Must set a fresh appealing case in a timely manner.
- Do prep lists, as assigned.
- Maintain all compliance logs.
- Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
- Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to all safe work practice.
- Must monitor proper pricing and signage.
- Effectively communicate with Guests, Team Members and Store Leadership.
