ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Managing a comprehensive and coordinated health service program for students within the school setting.

Implement mandated health screening programs.

Manage the schools’ medication program.

Assess children for a wide range of physical and behavioral illnesses.

Implement disease management education for children with illnesses such as diabetes and asthma. Process may involve children’s families.

Prevent spread of communicable diseases.
-
Provide emergency care.
-
Coordinate health service and education efforts with teachers, administrators, health educators, food service personnel, etc.

Collaborate with parent community health care providers and agencies.
-
Maintain comprehensive and cumulative health records for students.

Write on the job injury reports for all staff members and forward reports to Central Office for processing.
QUALIFICATIONS:-
Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatrics, community health or related field.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
-
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Bi-Lingual is a plus!

Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing License as an RN

Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a school Nurse
