POSITION: Injection Tooling Mold Tech
DEPARTMENT: Tooling
REPORTS TO: Tooling Manager
FLSA / SALARY BAND: Non-Exempt - Tech Wage Scale
Position Summary
The Mold P.M. Technician Maintains the operating condition of the injection molds for daily production requirements based on production schedule and Dept. manager feedback.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules and ISO requirements.
- Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
- Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Disassemble, Clean and reassemble injection molds
- Make mold/die changes as required
- May repair and maintain machines and auxiliary equipment, using hand and power tools
- Make minor repairs to injection molds as needed. i.e. (core pins, ejector pins, springs and broken bolts)
- Attaches connecting lines such as air, oil or water to mold to test flow for proper mold temperature
- Train assigned team members on quality inspection standards and rework procedures as required
- Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold onto spotting press bed, using overhead crane
- Follows molding schedule to meet production requirements
- Maintain P.M. records in data base using Excel program
- Recommended measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Other projects and duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- 2+ years injection molding experience
- Tool and Die/Molding Tech training preferred
- Experience using overhead crane
- Experience Operating Fork Truck
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and blueprints.
- The ability to write routine reports
- Ability to work in and promote a team-based environment
- Daily job attendance
- Experience in MS word, Excel, and Power Point software programs
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrate leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work in and promote a team-based environment
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, binocular, close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Pay: $17.75 - $25.75 per hour
