Houston Country Club is seeking a Food and Beverage Manager! This role is a key member of HCC’s management team and assists with the operations of a la carte dining at the Club. They work closely with the Director of Restaurant Operations, Director of Food and Beverage, and Culinary Team. The ideal candidate will supervise the restaurant (a la carte) dining experience across multiple outlets and oversee the service team. The next chapter for Houston Country Club promises to be extraordinary with the completion of one of the grandest club renovation projects in the country. The club is in the final phases of a 4-year renovation project that will provide a state-of-the-art fitness facility, new and renovated clubhouse areas for increased banquet and ala carte outlets, and new facilities supporting our racquets and poolside dining areas.

Woodway Dining Room –family-oriented dining with an American Bistro aesthetic

Grill Room and Baker Library –upscale dining featuring tableside service and a menu based in the traditions of French cuisine

Courtside Lounge –Coffee, smoothies, healthy grab-n-go anytime of the day

Club Café –fast casual, poolside dining for families
Day to Day Responsibilities:
-
Ensure that members and their guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences
-
Formulate daily line-ups for each service with fellow food and beverage managers
-
Plan, implement, and maintain processes to enhance the member and team experience
-
Support the service team with set up, execution, and breakdown of daily member experiences in member dining outlets and banquet events

Act as a “situational leader,” monitoring the quality and pace of service on the floor and assisting where needed
-
Complete regular opening and closing shifts; ensure the overall safety and preservation of the Club and prepare shift reports

Conduct maintenance and upkeep of JONAS, our point-of-sale system

Education & Experience:

Four-year degree required; degree in Hospitality a plus

Three years management or supervisory experience with high performing service teams

Ability to coach and develop teams

Working knowledge of food and wine

Advanced knowledge of service and service techniques

Understanding of POS systems, JONAS a plus

Strong computer skills and the ability to create marketing materials and menus
