Come join our fun and energetic team!! Ambulatory Surgery Center looking for team oriented RN for Preop (will also be cross trained in PACU). Ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience as a pre-op nurse. Schedule rotates daily, with average hours of 0530 am - 1500 pm. NO night, weekends, or holidays!! Candidate needs to be fluent in Spanish, efficient, punctual, able to adapt quickly, works well with a team, good communication skills. Other duties involve assisting with supply orders, pharmacy monitoring, cleaning and maintaining equipment and infection control.
· Ability to independently perform the functions of a RN in direct patient care
· Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care
· Works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs
· Must be detail and team oriented
· Ability to multitask and work in face paced environment
· Must be dependable and organized
· Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)
· 2 years experience required
· BLS, ACLS, PALS
· No call or weekends, paid holidays
· Prepares patient for surgery to include identifying correct patient, starting intravenous lines and IV fluids, reviewing patient history and medications, confirming NPO status and allergies, verifying procedure, surgeon, site, and completing consent forms
· RN needs to be familiar with airway management, ACLS, and pre and post-surgical medications
· Ability to monitor and assist patients recovering from anesthesia
· Provide patient and family teaching for discharge
· Common surgeries performed include but not limited to; GI, urology, ENT, general, ortho, podiatry, general, and pain
· Verbally communicates patient needs with surgery center staff and physicians
· Responsible for maintaining pharmacy records and medication expiration dates
· Accountable that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations
· Performs appropriate legal medical documentation on all patient’s care
· Communicates clearly and professionally with patients and their care givers
· Abides by company policies and procedures
· Performs other duties as assigned
