Personal Assistant - On-site and remote
Family office seeking 16-24 hr/week personal assistant / household manager to be on-site at a residence in Jersey City, NJ a few days each week, with some flexibility to work from home some of the time.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsible, and diligent, and enjoys research and creative problem-solving.
Looking for someone honest and trustworthy who wants to develop a relationship that hopefully could last for many years. Assistant would interface remotely with other staff occasionally, and in-person with part of the family at the Jersey City location.
All candidates must be confident drivers with a clean driving record. Confidentiality is super important; discretion and professionalism is expected.
Qualifications:
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Computer literacy, including managing online documents and calendars
- Event planning capabilities
- Office management skills
- Experience as a personal assistant a plus
Responsibilities:
Household Management:
- Arranging and supervising repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and landscaping at the house
- Performing light housekeeping, including dishes, sweeping or vacuuming, picking up and putting things away. There is a separate housekeeping team that does occasional deep cleaning.
- Performing light pool maintenance
- Organizing items in the home
- Shopping and stocking items in the home
- Light meal prep and cooking
Pet care: A single small dog who is deeply loved requires the highest care.
- Making vet trips
- Keeping track of medicine schedules and ensuring medicine is taken
- Walking the dog
- Dog sitting for a few hours
Vehicle management: supervising repairs and maintenance
Office assistance (some of which can be done remotely):
- Researching purchases; taking measurements in the home and doing online research
- Paying bills
- Handling incoming mail and packages
- Keeping organized paper files, digital documents, and calendars
- Scheduling appointments, such as medical/dental/massage/etc
Travel Planning: research and planning travel, help with packing, coordinating with destination to ensure advance requests are fulfilled
Event Planning: Planning for personal social and/or community events, coordinating caterer and post-event cleaning
Occasional Travel: Assistant may be requested to travel occasionally (not more than once every 2-3 months) for a few days to another residence in Virginia to assist with household management at that location.
Hours: 16-24 hours per week initially, spread over 2-4 days with a flexible schedule.
Compensation: $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. 50 hours per year of paid time off. $300 monthly allowance that can either go towards health insurance or health expenses.
