Pines of Sarasota is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Director of Fabulous Finds Thrift Shops.
The Fabulous Finds at Pines Thrift Store Director position reports to the CEO and is responsible for developing, implementing and directing the sales and operations to assure profitability of the two store sites. Duties include planning and coordinating store operations, applying marketing strategies, ensuring the quality of customer service, meeting budgeted goals with appropriate expense control and supervising paid and volunteer staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Store Management:

Manage all facets of store operations, sales, donations and delivery

Respond to facility maintenance and operating issues.

Assign replacement personnel during vacations and personal leave of absence.

Order/stock supplies and fixtures for store and back-room operations as needed.

Provide progress reports concerning store performance, goals, volunteer morale and other pertinent issues.
Strategic Planning:

Assist in developing long-range goals for the stores
-
Gather sales and demographic information to profile store’s customer base.

Collaborate with staff to enhance long term performance

Travel to other competitors in region to gather information and insight on how other stores are managed and operated.
Procurement of Donations:

Promote and procure quality donations from businesses, estates, and individuals
-
Inform areas businesses of the benefits of donating discontinued and out of season merchandise
-
Devise, implement, and manage a donation pick-up option for businesses, estates and individuals that are unable to deliver their donations to the thrift store location.
Cash Management:

Oversee daily cash in/out and make daily deposits
-
Track sales by group daily and report monthly to the CEO
Promotions and Events:
-
Oversee advertising and community outreach.

Develop ideas to attract additional quality donations
The ideal Thrift Shop Director will meet the following requirements:

Must have minimum of five years managing a retail operation or equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Must possess a demonstrated record of leadership and business skills.

Ability to supervise paid and volunteer staff to meet budgeted goals while maintaining a customer service focus required
-
Able to work independently, use good judgment in making sound decisions with minimal supervision.

Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing.
