We are looking for an HVAC Controls Technician to perform installation and service work onsite at various customer locations in Rhode Island and Southeastern, MA.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex electronic control systems;
- Install field controllers, thermostats, sensors, and actuators;
- Program, test, and make modifications to system software or programming;
- Interpret as well as understand As-Built drawings, Schematics, and Sequences of Operations;
- Keep customers informed of any outstanding issues, recommended system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs;
- Work closely with customer facilities staff;
- Manage assigned work to meet deadlines and customer expectations;
- Abide by company and customer safety guidelines and policies;
- Provide training to customers on how to use or interact with front-end controls;.
- Work independently or as part of a team;
- Participate in the On-Call Technician scheduled rotation;
- Work with customer IT staff to troubleshoot or establish network connectivity;
- Assemble control panels or connect existing wiring to field devices; and
- Preventative maintenance related tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience working as an HVAC Controls Field Technician or similar position;
- Familiarity with HVAC theory;
- Working knowledge of Tridium Niagara;
- Some experience with Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and/or ABB systems is a plus;
- Computer experience required;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); and
- Ideal, but not required: Two-year technical certificate or an Associate Degree in any of the following: electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, facilities management, facilities engineering, air conditioning, or a similar field.
