The Opportunity
BDS is seeking an experienced Field Service/Setup/installation field Technician to join our team! In this role you would be providing excellent customer service and utilizing your electromechanical skills to install and service clients within a dedicated territory regionally within the MA and the surrounding areas. Technician will provide support for high-level troubleshooting scenarios and will be assigned to customer and machine repair scenarios. Technician will also set up and install copier systems at customer sites.
Your Impact at BDS

Setup, Install, Manage are repair office equipment on and off site at client locations.

Extend outstanding support by meeting customers’ needs on time

Investigate and resolve advanced, high-level maintenance and repair issues

Manage accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies

Advise customers on equipment operation and maintenance
-
Assemble machines as per specifications with hand and power tools and measuring devices

Run machines to test parts functionality

Conduct preventive maintenance and calibrations of office equipment

Troubleshoot equipment and identifying malfunctions as well as cause
-
Provide customer service onsite and remotely assisting clients with their concerns.

Work closely with the Systems Support and Installation manager to perform remote technical fixes and installations of printer/MFP systems.

Be a strong ‘face’ for BDS, giving an excellent first impression during the installation process.

Deliver customer-centric service for the installation of small, medium, and large printer/MFP installations.

Perform technical user training for end users, with the expectation that end users will be able to efficiently utilize their printer/MFP equipment at the end.

Provide detailed analysis and resolution of customer and machine service scenarios.
Requirements:
What You’ll Need to be Successful

Minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent required

Valid driver’s license required, with a solid driving record and vehicle insurance
-
Reliable Vehicle
-
Ability to drive 2 hours, where service may be required outside of the general area or assigned territory

5+ years of experience required in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of copier/printer office equipment
-
Industry knowledge of major copier and printer manufacturers such as Kyocera, Canon, Ricoh and/or Xerox required

Networking knowledge preferred

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Experience working within a customer support department supporting the technical needs of clients such as office equipment repair, IT, manufacturing equipment, service-based business or related industry preferred but not required.
