· Job Summary:
o Apex Spine Institute is looking for a Registered Nurse to work as a Procedural/Pre-Op/PACU nurse in our Ambulatory Surgery Center.
· Days/Hours:
o Mon-Thurs: 0700-1500
o 2nd/4thTuesdays: 0600-1400
o No Weekends/No Call/No Holidays
· Responsibilities:
o Care for patients before and after pain intervention procedures and outpatient surgeries
o Complete thorough medical history and medication reconciliation.
o Confirm completion of consents and marking of surgical sites by physician
o Answer patient questions about spinal injections and the surgeries performed here.
o Assess injection sites, incision sites, monitor hemodynamic status, establish and maintain patient IV lines, assess blood glucose, and titrate oxygen as needed.
o Post anesthesia care
o Make patient assessments and promptly report critical changes to supervising physician
o Maintain accurate patient records
o Utilize aseptic technique to keep patient areas clean
o Provide excellent discharge teaching to both patients and family members.
· Required Qualifications:
o Ability to think critically
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
o Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
o Valid and unencumbered license in WA State
· Preferred:
o Experience as a Pre-Op/PACU nurse in a hospital or ASC
o Advanced knowledge of anesthesiology
