We are growing nationally, acquiring and servicing new members for solar farms in New York, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland and Illinois (to name a few). Our mission is to bring the benefits of renewable energy – environmental and savings -- to everyone. Our management team built one of the largest retail energy businesses in the US. Now they are applying their skill sets to clean energy, changing the world one utility account at a time.
Solomon Community Solar seeks a full-time fully remote Customer Service Sales Representative with strong experience in Collections. This is not an outbound sales role but rather CSRs that understand empathy and have active listening skills. Customer Service and Collections requires strong sales skills.

What you’ll do:
In our highly important Customer Service Sales Representative (CSR) role, you will be responsible for providing a white glove customer support experience for our current and prospective members.
Take the lead in successful attempts to recover outstanding balances and set plans for repayment with tactical touch points.
As a CSR for Solomon Community Solar you play a key role in helping us grow our business, while addressing any concerns our members have to keep them happy.
Our Customer Service Sales Representatives primarily will:
50% focus on taking warm lead inbound sales calls (questions from customers through our various marketing channels) while also;
50% understanding our billing methodology, educating customers while following up with collections. You are on our front lines, critical to the success and growth of Solomon Community Solar.
Responsibilities:
§ Utilize sales techniques to successfully describe our program to potential members, understand our core value proposition and the benefit to them
§ Manage customer accounts, generate invoices, collect payments, and update accounts to reflect changes
§ Answer customer questions about billing and account status with a sales hat mentality; showing 100% empathy and ability to validate the customer’s feelings
§ Accurately identify and resolve any billing and account errors or issues
§ Report to the Senior Customer Care Supervisor and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, providing them with insight on feedback from members and leads
§ Utilize data and our reporting to better understand the life cycles of our members, identifying retention opportunities and reducing member turnover
§ Gauge and foresee opportunities for: sales, retention, and billing explanations
§ Assess opportunities for improvements and execute
What You Will Bring to Our Team
Must have:
§ At least 2-3 years of experience in client services and collections required
§ Sales experience a must – you are not required to sell but having the experience will give you the tools you need to be successful
§ Experience writing to customer inquiries
§ Ability to manage high call volume under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
§ Outstanding telephone demeanor and relationship management; we want people whose personalities shine through the phone and who can have fun!
§ Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to organize and schedule day-to-day tasks
§ Ability to quickly learn our business and offerings including our processes
Nice to have:
§ Experience in the energy industry is a major plus!
§ Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a call center
§ Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft office suite
§ Ability to think outside the box, make ideas your own and see them through
§ A self-driven desire for personal and professional growth
