Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Respite Worker to help a six year old child with autism. As a Respite Worker, you will provide direct support and care to the child and include specialization skills. This position requires experience in working with children and individuals diagnosed with autism. Must be energetic and fit to handle a six year old with ASD. Any prior special needs babysitting experience can be beneficial. The duties of the job will be a mix of providing support in home and outside.
Duties:
- Provide direct support and assistance to ASD child requiring respite care
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Take child to and from Speech therapy and soccer practice.
- Take child out of home as needed for fresh air.
- Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Engage in meaningful activities with individuals to promote socialization and well-being
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in ABA methodology for children with autism.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals and their families
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with diverse needs
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs.
Skills:
- Experience in childcare and respite.
- Proficient in behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs)
