The Sand Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting frac sand and related materials to and from various locations. The Sand Driver plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations of BDL, ensuring the timely and secure delivery of materials to support our customers’ needs.
Schedule: 3 weeks on/1 week off or 6 weeks on/2 weeks off
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a commercial vehicle to transport sand and related materials to and from designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring that all equipment is in proper working condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of freight tickets, bills of lading, hours of service and any incident reports. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Adhere to company and industry safety standards, policies, and procedures. Follow guidelines for the secure transportation of materials.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including accidents and breakdowns, by following safety protocols and contacting the appropriate authorities or maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card.
- Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor trailer experience; Sand hauling experience preferred.
- Must be a minimum of 23 years of age.
- No moving violations or major violations in the past 3 years.
- Must be able to pass DOT and company pre-employment drug test, employment verification, criminal history, MVR, and road test.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong work ethic with ability to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Must be able to work rotational schedule and long hours (day or night), outside with exposure to inclement weather.
- Must be mechanically and technically inclined; able to use smart phone and software programs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach and climb.
- Must be able to carry, push and pull 50 pounds.
