Lotus Concepts is seeking a Banquet and Special Events Coordinator to join our growing team. Ideal candidates should have extensive experience in managing large dining events, delivering services that meet a customer’s budget, and provide excellent customer service that exceeds expectations.
Reports to: Banquet Director
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 + generous commission package
Qualifications:
- Exceptional ability to plan banquets, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in supervising banquet venue staff.
- Ability to collaborate with Banquet Sales Directors and Head Chefs.
- Extensive knowledge of catering equipment and venue requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with Triple Seat.
- Ability to work any day/shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work on-call as needed.
- Able to work ten hour-plus shifts plus the ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, heat, and work in a confined area.
- 2+ years of experience in banquet management, or similar.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate details of a contract with the banquet sales director and the head chef
- Plan the venue layout according to the number of guests and type of event.
- Determine the number of waiters and servers required for an event.
- Supervise the placement of tables, chairs, table settings, and serving stations to make sure they are placed properly.
- Consult with the head chef to discuss the timing of the meal courses being served.
- Oversee the seating of guests, serving of meals and beverages, and the quick clearing of tables.
- Manage the availability of liquor and soft drinks.
- Prepare work schedules and complete documentation on time.
- Ensure audio/visual equipment is up to date, in working order and available when needed.
- Maintain the small-wares and event equipment inventory to give timely feedback on loss and reordering needs, manage physical inventory verification.
- Graciously and quickly manage any employee or client issues.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
