Position: Aquatic Therapeutic Specialist / Adaptive Swimming Instructor

Reports to: Supervisor of Aquatic Therapy
Summary:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and structure appropriate aquatic exercise programs in one-on-one and group settings for children and adults with special needs, including those with physical and cognitive deficits.
- Structure aquatic instruction time appropriately to incorporate repetition and reinforcement of skills.
- Ensure participant safety.
- Conduct one-on-one and group instruction in a fun, positive manner.
- Create and maintain required documentation for client follow up.
- Participate in special projects/programs, as requested by supervisor.
Education and Training:
- Aquatic Exercise or Adaptive Swim certification preferred.
- Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching children and/or adults with special needs.
- Ability to swim 50 yards, tread water, and perform therapy-based activities in indoor 90-degree therapeutic pool.
- CPR certification required 30 days from hire date.
- Good communication skills and enjoys working with children and adults with disabilities.
Compensation:
Pay range: $20 - $30 per hour depending on experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
