Primary Purpose:
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Production Analyst fulfills a key role within the Ravenswood Supply Chain organization.
Not only does the Production Analyst play a decisive role in the short, medium and long-term production planning process of the facility, he/she is also the primary contact in operations for the inside and outside sales team for day-to-day supply chain topics such as bookings capacity, lead times, and mill loading. The Production Analyst is also expected to both participate in and drive supply chain process improvement- and streamlining projects in the spirit of Continuous Improvement.
The Production Analyst is a highly visible position, with direct interaction with all levels of sales and operations leadership, including the plant CEO, CFO, operating unit managers, and sales directors.
Key Accountabilities:
The position of Production Analyst has the following key functions and accountabilities:
- Planning and execution of the monthly S&OP process using supply chain optimization software package.
- Review and balancing of the MPS on a weekly basis based on various internal and external constraints, and by means of manual mill reloading.
- Primary interface between Inside Sales and Operations regarding supply chain issues. This includes:
- weekly review of lead times and bookings capacities based on current status of operations,
- management of bookings allocations,
- management of finished goods inventory programs, and
- resolution of conflicts / discrepancies between customer requirements and operational constraints.
- Significant data analysis work, spreadsheet- and database analysis tool developments, and preparation of presentations as required.
- Leadership of and/or participation in critical supply chain- and production process improvement projects.
- Function as backup for selected metal management-, production scheduling- and production planning functions as required.
Leadership Competencies & Technical Skills Required
The successful candidate is expected to have the following technical skills, experience and other competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or Supply Chain (Industrial Engineering preferred).
- Well-developed verbal and written communication-, collaboration-, and conflict resolution skills.
- Very good concept-development and programming skills: ability to (independently) simulate and resolve complex supply chain problems using the full palette of advanced capabilities offered by Excel (pivot tables, Visual Basic macro programming, database queries, etc.)
- Good familiarity with the entire Microsoft Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Insatiable curiosity and drive to learn new things, understand the “big picture” and solve complex problems.
- 3-5 years relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in metals production or other heavy industry preferred.
- Experience with process optimization software preferred (Quintiq Macro Planner or similar).
- Experience with Continuous Improvement processes (especially Lean) preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
