Greets and serves guests in a friendly manner, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, handles the sale of merchandise, may at times process light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a vital component of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates cash register and properly handles all cash or credit transactions
- Greets customers, offers assistance as customers enter the C-Store, and continues to provide friendly and excellent service throughout the customer’s visit; ensures guest satisfaction in all retail outlets
- Accurately maintains balance of cash register throughout the shift and at the end of the shift
- Exchanges funds with the Main Bank as scheduled or needed throughout the shift
- Keeps accurate records of transactions as outlined in the C-Store policy and procedure
- Provides current and useful information regarding the products available in the C-Store
- Uses IGNITE service skills to sell and up-sell products in the retail outlets and products and events throughout Prairie Band Casino & Resort
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately
- Prepares food neatly, according to formula, and in a timely manner
- Checks and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up
- Cleans and maintains the customer and service areas and equipment to promote a clean restaurant image.
- Understands and adheres to all quality standards and procedures
- Inventories and stocks merchandise on set schedule and/or as needed
- Prepares and serves food for guests of the C-Store
- Secures payment for accommodations and gives proper change when required
- Maintains control of departmental assets
- Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers in the C-Store, seeks supervisors assistance when appropriate and/or needed
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner and
- encourages others to do the same

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :
Required
- Six months experience as a cashier or in a cash handling position
- Ability to be kind, courteous and provide exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operations, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
Willingness to work various shifts, weekends, holidays and extended hours as required

- A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment

Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register
- Prior 10-key and Agilysys experience
- Prior sales experience

Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
