SUMMARY: To support students and teachers by providing comprehensive health services that promote a positive, equitable, and effective learning environment at AXL Academy. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations or Principal.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Provide healthcare services for students to support their wellbeing and academic achievement.

Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify and address student health issues.

Administer first aid and emergency care for injuries and acute illnesses.

Manage and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions.

Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

Monitor and manage outbreaks of infectious diseases within the school.

Maintain accurate health records for all students, ensuring compliance with state immunization requirements.

Refer students to outside healthcare providers and services as needed.

Collaborate with outside healthcare providers, administration, families, and teachers to support student health and wellbeing.

Participate in and support the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Committee and relevant interventions.

Train and supervise school staff on health-related procedures and emergency care.

Assist in developing and implementing school health policies and programs.

Provide day-to-day support and supervision as health needs arise.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is preferred.

Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

School Nurse Certification is preferred.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Must have the ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.

Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.

Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position may experience exposure to outdoor elements.
