Role Summary:
The Sanitation 2 or “Sanitation Special” primary responsibility is to ensure that their daily assigned area is maintained in safe and sanitary condition. Sanitation 2 employees will be required to lead groups of Sanitation 1 employees to complete tasks assigned by the sanitation supervisor. Sanitation 2 employees may be assigned to perform sanitation duties in any area throughout the facility. Employees in this position also need to demonstrate understanding of plant wide culture towards Safety, Food Safety, Communication, Quality and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leads crews comprised of Sanitation 1 employees and carries out tasks assigned by their supervisor.
· Discuss issues, needs, adjustment, and tasks performed with the previous and oncoming shifts daily
· Frequently handles concentrated chemicals
· Prepares chemicals for use in the facility for current shift and oncoming shifts.
· Perform basic titrations to ensure sanitation chemicals meet concentration target ranges.
· Ensures that general sanitation employees assigned to them are staying on task and following policy and procedures
· Performs hands on training for Sanitation 1 employees and new Sanitation 2
· Completes cleanup activities as assigned by the sanitation supervisors throughout the entire facility while following company policy and procedures
· Work in an assigned area to ensure product contact surfaces, equipment, floors, walls, ceilings, overhead pipes, facilities, and plant premises are clean and free of soils, residues, and debris
· Rinse, scrub, wash, and clean equipment as instructed
· Empty trash, by-product bins, and by-product carts
· Communicate with the sanitation supervisors when issues or broken equipment are identified
· Reports unsanitary conditions, safety concerns, and general issues to the sanitation supervisor
· May be asked to fill in as custodian
· Additional tasks as requested by the sanitation supervisors or plant management
· Perform cleaning duties inside of freeze tunnels before, during, and after production
· Performs tasks assigned by production staff upon request

Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour
