Under the guidance of the Materials Manager, the Logistics and Cycles Analyst is responsible for the day to day interfase with Customs and Logistics service providers ensuring proper contracts are established, tracking/tracing is performed and later communicated to the Materials organization and other key functions of the Order to Delivery Process. The Logistics and Cycles Analyst is also responsible to establish the cycle check program in the Houston and San Diego facilities for the corresponding teams to execute, while maintaining metrics, coordinating team meetings and following up on process improvements with the purpose of driving improved accuracy levels in the company.
Ensure implementation of Logistics service contracts across the enterprise.
Primary company representative for Customs and Logistics inquiries and service coordination (Directional quotes, Lead Times, tracing requests, shipment issue resolution).
Ensures documentation completion for overseas, interplant and other critical shipments.
Coordinates critical inbound/outbound moves for/from key vendors/customers.
Analyses Logistics and ship point data to recommend improvements in the overall company logistics set up.
Establishes Shipping Instructions for overseas vendors to satisfy Reotemp Logistics service platform and strategy.
Reviews HTS codes and establishes controls to understand impact on tariff changes.
Assist Buyers with vendor compliance for Customs, International commerce, Legislative commerce requirements/controls.
Perform data entry on various ERP or standalone applications (Excel, Google Sheets, Other) intended to maintain accuracy or timely booking of data sets in the Materials area.
Support the Houston Materials team in the implementation of Lean Logistics to improve internal and external material movement and control through Lean projects and process improvement.
Support the Houston Materials team in the control and improved mgmt. of the inventory.
Create and control Inventory Cycle Programs for both Warehouses.
Perform inventory adjustments in the systems and lead actions to improve data accuracy.
Support the local Materials Team during the yearly Physical Inventories.
Three years experience in Logistics, Customs, tracing and/or goods transportation.
Proven experience in driving improvements in processes related to shipping, material identification and tracing, and inventory accuracy.
Ability to participate in detailed technical discussions related to Customs, Logistics, Incoterms and Inventory accuracy.
Displays ability to work closely with the Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping and Warehouse teams at both of our facilities.
Understands Incoterms and HTS coding for local and overseas shipments.
Previous experience creating Inventory Cycle Programs
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer literacy and data entry and mining skills (using Vendor websites, MS Office tools and shared web/cloud files on the web – Google Sheets, Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Shared Drives and data mining/reporting tools).
Global logistics experience is a definitive plus.
