The New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC) was founded in 1993 as a nonprofit collaboration of financial institutions and community housing agencies focused on expanding the opportunity for responsible and sustainable homeownership to underserved individuals and families in Metro New York. In recent years, we have expanded our focus to include generational wealth building, closing the racial wealth gap and economic empowerment for BIPOC, underserved and low-and-moderate income communities. Through such programs as financial empowerment education, workforce development, foreclosure intervention and employer-assisted housing, we work together to overcome the obstacles to homeownership, advocating for limited-wealth households every step of the way.
