Flexible Teacher
Full-time position to begin August 21, 2024
Perelman Jewish Day School, a Pre-Kindergarten to 5th Grade independent school in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a motivated team player to join our community as a Flexible Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 School Year. As a Flexible Teacher your primary responsibility will be substitute teaching. This can include a daily assignment with a particular grade or a long-term role as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner proactively with faculty and administration to support diverse learners in the areas of academic, behavioral, and social/emotional learning
- Collaborate with team members to plan and implement instruction, fostering student curiosity and engagement
- Participate in faculty meetings and in-service professional development days
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, or equivalent experience, required
- Strong knowledge of developmental needs of young children and appropriate curricula that meet those needs
- Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Technology skills including: Familiarity with Apple products (such as MacBooks and iPads), Chromebooks, projectors, etc…
- High-energy and enthusiastic about working in the Jewish day school atmosphere

Compensation for this position will range from $35,000 to $40,000, is commensurate with experience, and includes a competitive benefits package. Paid time off includes Jewish and secular holidays, two lengthy school vacations, and additional PTO. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, 403(b), and tuition remission. This position is in person from late August through mid-June.
