This position is an intricate part of the operations team and will be responsible for fulfilling all duties related to Wholesale Shipping. The Shipping Lead will work closely with the Production, Logistics, and Customer Support teams to ensure orders are being fulfilled in a timely manner while maintaining high-quality standards. The position is also responsible for ensuring all orders are shipped out accurately and on time.
Demonstrate care and patience when packing boxes, ensuring that bags don’t break in transit.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with UPS drivers and representatives.
Maintain an even demeanor while dealing with shipping deadlines and any emergencies that arise.
Assess shipping tasks for each day and complete them in order of importance; multi-tasking and adjusting on short notice.
Work with Production Planning Lead and Production Manager as needed to fulfill orders while maintaining bagged inventory accuracy.
Ensure each order is properly shopped, fulfilled, and labeled for pick-up by UPS at 4 pm.
Communicate with members of Stumptown’s Customer Support team and Accounts Receivable with any order issues in a timely manner.
Work closely with the Distribution and Logistics Managers to order and maintain inventory for shipping supplies (boxes, tape, labels, etc.).
Utilize the EOD checklist to maintain a clean and organized workspace to comply with food safety protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace each day in the shipping area.
Work a flexible schedule during holidays.
Help lead the production tech team to finish up scooping, sealing, and folding at the end of each day.
At least one year experience working in a shipping department or environment.
Forklift training and daily operation mandatory
Strong organizational skills.
A demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee.
Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
Excellent time management skills.
Intermediate experience with Google Docs, Ship Manager, and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
Carry weight, lift – frequently moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Weight greater than 50 pounds will be mitigated with a lifting partner or device
